Molecular Bonded Shell
Next to the Artificial Intelligence capacity of K.I.T.T., his
Molecular Bonded Shell was probably his most important feature. Rendering him almost
indestructible, it came in handy more than once. The process was one of the Foundations
most closely guarded secrets. The complete formula was known to only one person, Wilton
Knight. He then split the formula into three elements and entrusted two of the three
elements to three different people; Devon Miles, Dr. Kyle Elliot, and Dr. Von Voorman.
The reason the MBS is not currently in use is because the
complete formula was lost. The current armor shell used on all F.L.A.G. vehicles is
effective, but not as impenetrable as the MBS. The Foundation is currently working on a
new formula that would equal or exceed the old MBS. For obvious reasons, the U.S. Military
is very interested in their success. A MBS on all military vehicles would create an almost
invincible army.
