Project Megaman was one of Wilton Knights first attempts at bringing together man and technology to fight crime. Conceived in the early 1970's, many attempts were made to engineer the perfect human. The Foundation did many unsuccessful tests with bionic implants, before finding that genetic engineering heralded more success, with fewer risks to the subject.

     Ken Savage was the first human genetically engineered for enhanced strength, speed, hearing, and vision through Project Megaman. Ken successfully completed many missions for F.L.A.G. until his wife, Summer James, was killed in action while helping him stop the Chinese built 5XE (a rocket-tank weapon built held in orbit above earth with another 5XE) in 1981. Ken retired, and Project Megaman was dropped for the Foundations then current project, Project Knight Rider.

     Ken was brought back into F.L.A.G. by Team Knight Rider in 1998 to help stop the second 5XE when it dropped to earth. Little did Ken know the second 5XE was brought to earth by one of his arch-enemies Nigel Davies as a trap for Ken. Ken and TKR did successfully disarm the 5XE, but not without Ken losing his life in the process.
